Some of My Adventures
Some of My Adventures
This photo captures my very first 5K—and quite the memorable finish! As I crossed the line, I was wrapped up (almost literally) in the American flag. It was the perfect kickoff race leading up to my first 10K.
This photo is from my first 10K in Chatham, a goal I set as my 2024 New Year’s resolution. I trained for eight months, aiming to finish in 1 hour and 15 minutes, but crossed the line in 1 hour and 18 minutes instead. Turns out Chatham is a lot hillier than I’d planned! Even so, I’m proud of sticking with it and accomplishing something I once thought was miles out of reach.
This photo is from my second 5K, which I ran in celebration of Pride Month in 2025. I’m the one with my hands up, proudly sporting pink shorts. The race was tough—especially the huge hill I had to conquer not once, but three times—but I made it to the finish line, proving to myself that a little determination goes a long way.
Here’s a snapshot of me volunteering with Trash2Treasure, Northeastern’s zero-waste club. Whether sorting donations or organizing events, I loved working alongside a passionate team to help divert usable items from landfills. It was hands-on work that combined sustainability, community, and the satisfaction of knowing small actions can make a big impact.
One of my more delicious adventures was competing in a guacamole competition, where I earned second place in both the People’s Choice and Judges’ Vote categories. It was a fun challenge blending creativity and culinary skills, experimenting with flavors to create a guacamole that stood out.
I recently completed the Boston Public Library Challenge, where I visited 24 different library branches across the city, collecting a stamp from each one to fill my library passport. While I opted for plenty of bus and T rides over walking every mile, the journey took me through neighborhoods and hidden corners of Boston I might never have explored otherwise. It was the perfect blend of adventure, books, and discovering just how much this city has to offer.
